Dark Desire Season 1 Explained And Recap Your Companion to the Twisted Love Triangles

No matter how dramatic your love life is, it’s boring compared to Dark Desire. Netflix’s Mexican romantic suspense started with a simple premise. What if a law professor started having an affair with her hunk of a pupil? Roughly twelve love triangles, a murder, and a faked death latterly, being scandalized about a classroom association feels antique.

It’s been a time and a half since Netflix first introduced the cult to the twist-filled world of Dark Desire. Need a recap before you dive into Season 2? We've you covered.

 How Did Brenda Die?

Occasionally the simplest answer is the right bone. It looked like Brenda (María Fernanda Yepes) failed by self-murder because she did. Let us explain.

Indeed though Brenda acted like Alma’s (Maite Perroni) happy-go-lucky friend, she was anything purely. Intimately, she was in love and has an affair with Alma’s hubby, Leonardo (Jorge Poza). But at the same time, she was also sleeping with Leonardo’s family, the vituperative Esteban (Erik Hauser). That heartbreak, abuse, and emotional distance from her stylish friend contributed to Brenda taking her own life.

 Who’s in Love with Who?

This is the most confusing part of Dark Desire, so let’s get into it. Alma and Leonardo are wedded, so it’s inferred that they love each other in some position. On Leonardo’s side, he was having an affair with Brenda, who loved him. On Alma’s, she was sleeping with her law pupil, Darió (Alejandro Spitzer), who ultimately fell in love with her. A revengeful Darió also slept with Alma and Leonardo’s son, Zoe (Regina Pavón). But we’re not done yet. Brenda, who was Alma’s stylish friend, was sleeping with Leonardo as well as his family Esteban. And at the end of Season 1, Esteban dropped the lemon that he was in love with Alma.

Need a recap for this recap? Leonardo is married to Alma but was sleeping with the now-dead Brenda. Alma is married to Leonardo, is sleeping with her pupil Darió, and later learns that her family-in-law Esteban is in love with her. Esteban was sleeping with the now-dead Brenda but is in love with Alma. And Darió, who's caught up in a love triangle with her parents, is sleeping with both Zoe and Zoe’s mama, Alma. Healthy connections each around.

How Is Darió Connected to the Leslie Delgado Case?

Back when it looked like Brenda had been boggled, there was a huge smoking gun that made Darió look suspicious of the murder of Leslie Delgado. But as is always the case with this show, appearances can be deceiving. Times agone, Darió’s father Antonio has been framed for the murder of Leslie Delgado thanks to his vicious family, Alberto, and Esteban the loose bobby. Yes, that Esteban. But before Alberto and Esteban’s plan could work, Antonio took his life. That left Darió to inherit his forefather’s vast fortune. To the outside world, it sure looked like his father killed someone, but Darió and his father were innocent men.

 What Happened to Zoe?

Darió may not be a killer, but he’s not an angel moreover. In Season 1, Darió witnessed Alma and Leonardo having anniversary coitus. Darió was too crazy in love with Alma to let that cover. Using an online courting app, he connected with Alma and Leonardo’s son Zoe and induced her to visit him at his shop. Formerly there, he took Zoe’s purity. So yeah, that’s enough terrible geste.

Is Darió Dead? How Did Dark Desire Season 1 End?

Toward the end of Season 1, Darió sounded to die in a fire. But that was all for show. Darió noway burnt down his forefather’s old plant. Rather, he and Esteban burned the Godfather’s body to make it looks like Darió was boggled. Season 1 ended with Darió and Esteban on the run and in love with the same woman. But this time around, Esteban is working for Darió. As for Alma? Alma is induced that Darió is dead and is staying with her hubby. At least that’s the plan for now.
